Today on 10 December 2003 the World Summit on Information Society starts its functioning. More than 12000 delegates are taking part in this Summit. As is known this Summit held under the patronage of Mr. Kofi Annan,UN Secretary-General, and the ITU plays the key role in event preparation.
   In the frame of the Summit Mr. Kofi Annan, UN Secretary-General visited the ICT for Development Platform Exhibition, held along with the Summit in hall # 4 as well as the stand of Azerbaijan that was presented both governmental and commercial structures taking part the development of Infotelecommunications technologies in Azerbaijan.
   Having acquainted with the stand he noted that on 9 December 2003 he had a profitable meeting with Mr. Ilkham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan.
