In connection with the presidential elections of Azerbaijan Republic, 15 October 2003 was officially announced as the Day of Azerbaijan in the ITU TELECOM WORLD 2003 exhibition held in Geneva on 12-18 October. During the Day of Azerbaijan AzEuroTel JV conducted a presentation devoted to our country in its stand at 11:00 on 15 October 2003 and the exhibitors were given a chance to watch a film about Azerbaijan and receive national souvenirs and national sweeties.
   The stand personnel, IT engineers of AzEuroTel JV were dressed in national handmade kerchiefs-kalagays of natural silk and ancient national ornamental design and Azeri music was heard in the stand. During this day AzEuroTel JV delegation visited the Azerbaijan representative office in Geneva to vote.
And in the evening of that day a reception was arranged in des Bergues, one of the most famous hotels with the participation of the ITU management including Mr. Yoshi Utsumi, General Secretary, his deputies, Mr. Hamadoun Toure, Director of Development Bureau, Mr. H.Zhao, Director of Standardization Bureau, Mr. T.Dahl-Hansen, Director of the ITU TELECOM WORLD 2003 Exhibition, head of various department of ITU, representatives of Russian telecommunication companies such as Rostelecom, Teleport-TP, mass media representatives, Mr. S. De Muynk, head of Financial Times representative in Europe and other executives.
   Mr. Ogtay Akhmedov, Deputy General Director opened the reception and during his speech noted that through participating in this exhibition we had represented not only AzEuroTel, but as well as our country Azerbaijan, and we had the honour to have those guests in the reception in such a day when presidential elections have been held in our country. Mr. Yoshi Utsumi, General Secretary was presented with a handmade carpet with national ornamental pattern and ITU logo.
