In view of the new World Bank project on expanding telecommunications in rural areas of Southern Caucasian countries, representatives of this organization, Mr Svetoslav K. Tinchev and Luis Alberto Bonifas came to Baku.
   On 19 June, 2003 in World Bank Baku office was held a meeting where issues in the field of telecommunication development in rural areas were discussed, as well as the project presentation was arranged.
   Representatives of telecommunication companies functioning in Azerbaijan participated in the debates. Mr Nuri Akhmedov, General Director of AzEuroTel JV was participating in the meeting by the invitation of World Bank Baku office.
   It should be noted that a part of the project will be implemented by APOYO Consultoria, Peruvian company with 25-years experiences, aiming to assist private operators in expanding infrastructure in rural areas and with the team with great experience in the field of telecommunication regulation.
   On 20 June representatives of World Bank visited AzEuroTel head office and got acquainted with the company's activity and conducted talks with AzEuroTel management.
