Just like in 1999, the "Zerkalo" newspaper has awarded Nuru Akhmedov, General Director of "AzEuroTel", the "Best entrepreneur in the area of telecommunications" prize. In 2000, N.Akhmaedov managed to with stand the pressure from the Ministry of Telecommunications, which tried to block AzEurotel's access to the segment of international telecommunication services. AzEuroTel was the only telecommunication company not to have stopped working during the November 25 earthquake.
