AzEuroTel is invited to take part in TELECOM 99 + INTERACTIVE 99, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), one of the best-known of the United Nations agencies, with a view to hold an exhibition of telecommunication equipment to promote the benefits of telecommunications and demonstrate recent technological advances as a service to the ITU's members. First TELECOM event was held in Geneva in 1971.

TELECOM has become a privileged and unique meeting place for governmental leaders, administrations and top executives from operators, industry and service providers, and for users, investors and the press. Today, TELECOM is the world's most important telecommunications exhibition and forum. It provides the industry with a unique opportunity to present really significant technological advances.

World Telecommunications Exhibition and Forum is hold in every four year and along with it, since 1985 regional TELECOM events have also been organized in Asia, Africa and the Americas.

In 1999 TELECOM INTERACTIVE is being combined with the TELECOM 99 event. It is the 8th WORLD TELECOM and 2nd TELECOM INTERACTIVE Exhibition which will open in Geneva PALEXPO on 10 September. The PALEXPO conference and exhibition centre has been the venue for WORLD TELECOM events since 1983.

TELECOM 99 + INTERACTIVE 99 will use all of the available space at PALEXPO, including the gardens. Consisting of a Press Centre, four Press Conference rooms, a TV studio, a Restaurant and an Exhibition Hall (Hall 8), the area is certain to attract many visitors and of course the world's media. Fully equipped in terms of network connectivity, air conditioning, etc., it provides all the amenities the exhibitors and visitors are used to. In total the Exhibition will cover 65,000 m2 of net floor space, not counting additional storeys on multi-level stands. TELECOM 99 + INTERACTIVE 99 will showcase the names of virtually every player in the converging telecommunications and computing industries. Exhibitors will participate at TELECOM 99 + INTERACTIVE 99 to illustrate the relentless challenge confronting the converging world of tomorrow - and indeed today.
